About Zazareth, Inc.

Snow comes into the South Hills sideways and banks up first in the ravines along Bower Hill Road, where the fog had been sitting an hour before. Zazareth, Inc. does snow removal in Mount Lebanon, which in this township means the steep ones — the driveways that pitch down to a garage below street level and would be a slide by morning. The work happens at two and three in the dark, headlights swinging across stone retaining walls, blade down, pass after pass until the concrete shows again. Sidewalks get cleared too, because a place this walkable is only walkable if somebody is out there clearing them. Then it is on to the next house, and when the sky finally goes gray over the hill, the whole block can leave on time.
