About A&F Landscaping Company

Before the first Red Line car rattles down toward Dormont, Washington Road is still more streetlight than sun. A&F Landscaping Company works that hour — the plow blade throwing a curl of snow off a steep Mount Lebanon driveway so the commuter walking to the T finds bare pavement and salt underfoot. Come May the same routes turn green, and the mowers move across terraced front lawns that step down to the sidewalk like shallow stairs. There is a plain satisfaction in a hillside yard cut clean to its stone wall and a walk opened before anyone has laced a boot. Snow and grass are one long conversation with the same hillside blocks.
