Faust Repair

About Faust Repair

By midsummer the small yards of Morton grow fast, fed by humid nights and the damp that drifts up out of the creek bottoms below town. Faust Repair keeps them in order through those months, mowing, running the trimmer along fence lines and porch posts, edging the concrete walks so a lawn ends in a clean seam instead of a ragged fringe. When the year turns and the same yards go silver, the work turns with it: driveways plowed, walks opened, salt scattered on the north-facing steps the sun never reaches. It is ordinary work done attentively, house by house, on streets where the neighbors notice everything. The reward is plain enough — a lawn that looks cared for in July, and a clear path to the door in January.
