Snochasers

About Snochasers

At three in the morning in February, the hill climbing out toward Matamoras is nothing but headlights and falling snow. Snochasers is out in the middle of it, plowing, shoveling walks, spreading salt where the grade wants to throw a car sideways. Storms track up the Delaware valley and stall against the Pike County high ground, which is how six inches quietly becomes eleven overnight. The job is finished when a driveway looks like the storm went around it. Milford wakes, backs out, and gets on with the morning, and that is the whole ambition.
