Hellmann's Tree Service

About Hellmann's Tree Service

Morning on the Ohio at McKees Rocks starts with a barge working upstream and the light coming flat across the water into the Bottoms. Hellmann's Tree Service takes on both halves of this town, the level streets down by the river and the hillside lots above them, where yards stack on top of each other and a flight of steps is the only way in. Removals come apart between a garage and a fence with inches to spare; trimming lifts the crowns off roofs and back lines; pruning steers the young trees toward the room they actually have. After the wind funnels up the river valley, storm damage cleanup is a matter of getting the alley open and the brush gone before evening. Old river town, tight ground, honest work right in the middle of it.
