Hirsch's Tree Services

About Hirsch's Tree Services

Marysville is a river town with a mountain at its back and trains running all night along the Susquehanna, and its yards climb the hillside in short steep steps. Hirsch's Tree Services works up those grades where Cove Mountain crowds the last row of houses, trimming crowns off the roofs, pruning limbs that hang into the alley, taking down the old ash that will not make another winter. On a slope like that a removal comes down in short lengths on a rope, because there is nowhere for anything to fall. Storm damage cleanup along the west shore starts the moment the wind quits and does not stop while a drive is still blocked. By evening the river has gone silver again and the yard is clear enough to cross barefoot.
