About Funyak Landscapes, L.P.

October turns the maples along the old rail bed at Mars to copper, and then one gusty afternoon takes the whole canopy down at once. Funyak Landscapes, L.P. meets that afternoon head-on: leaves cleared off lawns and out of beds, yards raked back to open ground, everything hauled away before the first hard rain mats it flat. Earlier in the year the same route is mowing and trimming, the grass kept even and the edges kept honest week after week. Later it is snow — driveways and lots plowed open, walks scraped and salted, the drifts pushed back off the turnaround so a car can swing wide. There is a real pleasure in handing a place back tidier than the weather left it, season after season, in a small Butler County town that notices.
