About Lucas Mowing

Rattling Creek comes down off Short Mountain and threads the length of Lykens, and the yards along it keep their own schedule. Lucas Mowing works those yards through the green months — the mower's stripe laid straight down a narrow borough lot, the edge along the walk cut crisp enough to run a finger down. Come December the same streets go still under snow, and the work turns to opening driveways and walks before the valley wakes. There is a plain satisfaction in a shoveled path at first light, steam lifting off the blacktop behind you. Lawn care and snow removal for Lykens and the towns up and down the valley.
