About Bloom Landscaping

Four in the morning in Lower Swatara during a storm is a strange and lovely sight: the airport lights smeared soft across the flats, Route 230 empty, snow running sideways off open fields. Bloom Landscaping is out in it, plowing drives, opening lots, shoveling steps and salting the approaches that will carry the day's first feet. A name like Bloom belongs to a green month, and the winter half of the calendar answers it with white — long pushes across level ground, edges shoved back far enough to make room for whatever comes next. Nothing about the work is loud; it simply happens between the storm and the alarm clock. What is left behind is pavement, plain and passable, exactly where it should be.
