Brock Creek runs low and clear through the middle of an ordinary week, and the year around it turns in a full circle. Spring brings cleanups, and then the mowing begins and does not let up — weekly cuts, trimming, edging along every walk and bed. Autumn is leaves lifted off the grass before they mat down for the winter. Then cold comes up off the Delaware and the work becomes plowing, walkways opened, salt on the slick approaches, usually before sunrise. Around Macclesfield Park and the roads out toward Yardley that circle comes around again every twelve months, and it is a fine thing to be part of.
