The Delaware Canal towpath runs the length of this township with the river just beyond it, and on a June morning the whole corridor is green in about four different shades. Lawn work here means weekly mowing, trimming close around old stone and plantings, edging until walks and drives get their outlines back, and the seasonal cleanups that keep turf breathing. River-valley soil grows grass eagerly, which is a gift and a scheduling problem in roughly equal measure. Yards from the Yardley side out toward Dolington all keep the same weekly appointment. The reward is uncomplicated: a lawn that looks finished from the sidewalk.
