About Cruz Junk Beast

Three in the morning on a Lititz side street is a particular kind of quiet: streetlight, falling flakes, nobody. Cruz Junk Beast works that hour, running plow routes through the borough's tight blocks and the alleys behind them, where snow has nowhere to go unless somebody moves it somewhere smart. Shoveling steps and stoops, cutting a path to the mailbox, salting the older walks that turn slick before anything else does — the small stuff decides how the morning goes. Storms cross Lancaster County in bands, so a route often gets run twice before breakfast and once more at dusk. The reward is simple and it never wears out: a whole street able to leave for work on time.
