About Kiski Valley Outdoor Services

October arrives on the Kiski Valley hillsides as a slow burn, and then all at once as leaves — bushels of them, banked against the curbs of Leechburg's stepped streets. Kiski Valley Outdoor Services rakes and hauls that season off the grass, mows it short and even before the ground goes hard, and then waits for the sky to change its mind. When it does, the trucks are out on the hill roads above town with blades down, shoveling steps and treating ice where the grade would rather not let a car stop. Come spring the same properties get their first cut, their trimmed borders, their swept walks. It is steady, weather-shaped work, done for neighbors in Leechburg, Vandergrift, Apollo and Gilpin Township.
