About American Outdoor Services

Lake Erie hands its snow inland in long gray bands, and by the time those bands reach the fields above LeBoeuf Creek they have thickened into something serious. American Outdoor Services works those hours — plowing farm lanes and driveways in the dark, opening lots before the first cars turn in, salting the walks where the wind packs it hardest. There is a specific satisfaction in a driveway cut down to the blacktop while the flakes are still falling, banks squared off and pushed back far enough to take the next storm. This is snow-belt country, where a February squall can bury a road twice between breakfast and dusk, and the work is simply showing up again. When the sun finally breaks over the French Creek valley, the pavement is bare and the day can start.
