Toby's Creek comes down out of the hills through Luzerne and into Kingston, and when its banks go green the mowing year has begun. Bowman's Lawn Care starts then, on lawns still soft from the melt, taking the shaggy first cut that turns a winter-flattened yard back into something upright. From there it becomes a rhythm — regular mowing, trimmed fence lines, clean edges along walks and drives — carried straight through the long light of July.
