About J.A.W Excavating & Tree Services LLC

Johnstown's hollows run steep and narrow, and the back lots off the Moxham and Ferndale streets end right where the hillside starts climbing. J.A.W Excavating & Tree Services LLC works up in that ground — tree removal above retaining walls and garages, tree trimming to keep a canopy from swallowing a small yard whole, pruning that leaves a hardwood with a shape that sheds snow instead of catching it. July storms build over the Laurel ridges and come down the valley loud, and the morning after brings storm damage cleanup: trunks bucked into rounds, the driveway cleared, the slope walked for anything still hung up above head height. Nothing about a hillside job is quick, and the finish is worth the hours — open ground, square cuts, a yard somebody can use again.
