About J.R. DePanfilis snow removal

Johnsonburg sits where the two branches of the Clarion come together, down in a bowl of hemlock hills that catch every band blowing in from the northwest. Some winters up here are less a season than a steady condition, and J.R. DePanfilis snow removal is built for exactly that — plow work, hand-shoveling and salt across driveways, walkways and lots through the long stretch of it. Elk County snow arrives heavy and it does not quit politely, so the job gets measured in return trips rather than single passes. The aim is a person stepping out at six into cold clean air and open pavement, with the mill lights still burning up the valley. That is a small thing to give a town, and it gets given over and over.
