Greens Tree Service

About Greens Tree Service

The Lehigh cuts a gorge past Jim Thorpe and the town climbs the walls of it, Broadway tilting up between the brick and the rhododendron. Greens Tree Service works those pitched lots where a hemlock's root plate is holding a hillside and a dead oak above a slate roof is nobody's idea of a good winter. Tree removal here happens in pieces, roped down; tree trimming opens light on streets that don't get much of it; pruning keeps young trees clear of the wires strung along the switchbacks. When a nor'easter comes up the valley and lays timber across the mountain roads, storm damage cleanup runs until the drives are open. Late November, with the leaves down and the gorge showing its bones, you can see every bit of the work from the road above.
