About 5A Landscaping

Jay Township is mostly forest and creek bottom — the Bennett Branch running through it, hemlock shade on the hills, and clearings where somebody made room for a house and a yard. Lawn care up here means working the open ground you actually have: mowing the flats and the slopes, trimming around foundations, stone and tree line, keeping the seam where lawn meets woods honest. Spring cleanup carries off a long winter's worth of debris; fall cleanup gets ahead of what the hardwoods drop all at once. Elk County light comes late over the ridges and leaves early, so the days get worked accordingly. A trim green clearing in the middle of all that timber is a genuinely good sight.
