Musser's Tree Services

About Musser's Tree Services

August in the Swatara bottomlands is heavy and green, the air thick under the walnuts, the old rail bed cool where the trees close over it. Musser's Tree Services is out in that heat with the saws running — tree trimming to open a driveway, pruning to shape the young maples somebody planted along a new street, tree removal when an ash has gone brittle and it is simply time. Between here and Hershey the yards are big enough for real trees, and real trees eventually need somebody willing to climb them. Storms come around the long ridge north of town with the sky going that particular greenish gray, and storm damage cleanup fills the day after: brush chipped, the ground put back, the lawn left able to take a mower. Good work here is quiet work — you notice the shade, not the cutting.
