About Martin Tree Service Inc.

Hummelstown was built out of its own brownstone, and the same warm rock shows up in the walls and church fronts around the square. Martin Tree Service Inc. works those brick-tight blocks and the wider lots out toward Swatara Creek, where sycamores stand along the banks with their bark peeling white. Pruning happens in the still cold of February, tree trimming in the leaf, and tree removal whenever a trunk has decided its own future — taken down in pieces on lots where there's a garden on one side and a wall on the other. Thunderstorms roll in off the farm ground and can leave a split limb hung up over a neighbor's line, and storm damage cleanup puts it right the same day. A finished job here looks like nothing more than a tidier street and better light on the porch.
