Hopwood sits at the foot of Chestnut Ridge, where the old National Road quits the valley and starts climbing in earnest. Hart Landscaping keeps to both halves of that country's year: the green half, with mowing and trimming and the cleanup that follows every windy week, and the white half, when the ridge hangs onto its snow long after Uniontown has let it go. A plow run finished before the first car backs out is its own small triumph — pavement dark, banks pushed square, salt laid where ice likes to hide. In summer the payoff is a lawn brought down even and a line along the walk clean enough to run a finger down. Same ground, two moods, and somebody paying attention to both.
