Hawley was built out of bluestone and it shows — in the walls, in the old mill above the Paupack, in the slab that turns up two inches down in any garden bed you open. JML Landscaping & Construction works with all of it: mowing, trimming, edging, mulch and cleanups through the growing season, then plowing the drives and salting the walks once the town goes quiet and white. Main Avenue in November has a particular hush to it before the first real storm. What the crew wants at the end of a winter night is simple — every entrance open, every walk down to bare surface. In July they want the same thing in green.
