There is a week in late October when Susquehanna Township lets go all at once — maples turning the yards red, oaks holding stubbornly on, lawns disappearing under color faster than anyone can keep up with. Good's Tree and Lawn Care works that week hard, and the rest of the calendar besides: mowing and trimming through summer, edging along walks and beds, clearing leaves in fall, then plowing, shoveling and de-icing drives and walkways once winter takes over. Leaves left to mat down will smother good turf by March, which is why the blowers keep running until the yard is genuinely bare rather than mostly bare. Then the cold comes down the valley and the same properties need the blade and the spreader instead of the mower. A yard raked clean in November tends to be a yard that comes back green in April.
