570 Landcare

About 570 Landcare

Winter arrives in the Wyoming Valley from the west, spilling over Solomon Gap while Hanover Township is still asleep. That is the hour 570 Landcare works: headlights on the Sans Souci Parkway, a plow blade set low, driveways opened long before the first commuter reaches for a coat. A finished lot is worth looking at — clean corners, salt laid where the ice would otherwise gather, a path to the door someone can walk without thinking about it. Snow here is less an event than a season, and each storm gets met the same way, one street at a time. By sunrise the valley is white and the pavement is black, and that contrast is the whole point.
