Greenfield Grass and Snow

About Greenfield Grass and Snow

Late June in Greenfield, and the yards behind the houses are small, walled and stacked one above the next like shelves. Greenfield Grass and Snow keeps them cut: the narrow strip out front, the patch behind the garage, the awkward piece by the steps that nothing else wants to touch. Trimming close to stone and porch posts, edging where the grass creeps over the sidewalk, carrying clippings out through a gate three feet wide. It is fussy ground, and doing it right takes patience more than horsepower. When the leaves come down the same yards get cleared out, corner by corner.
