About Bierd's Tree Services..

The Cumberland Valley runs flat and limestone-rich past Greencastle, corn and hay to the horizon, South Mountain standing up dark along the eastern side. In town the streets fan out from the square, and the shade trees above them are old enough now to need looking after. Bierd's Tree Services.. handles removal once decay has gone too far, trimming that keeps a canopy off the roofline and the wires, and pruning that steers new growth somewhere useful. October brings the wind that finds every weak crotch in the county; after it passes, the wood comes down, the brush goes out and the lawn gets put right. The shade over a sidewalk is the thing worth protecting here, and it stays.
