About Niehlscape

At four in the morning the hills along Route 100 are a black-and-white photograph, and the only color is a plow light turning on the shoulder. Niehlscape works that end of the calendar in Gilbertsville — plowing driveways and lots, clearing sidewalks and steps, laying down salt where sleet has glazed everything over. The measure of a night is simple: whether the first car out of the garage gets down the drive without a second thought. Snow here can come wet and heavy up the Schuylkill Valley or dry and drifting off the open fields, and each kind wants a different pass. Getting that right is the craft.
