Bill's Tree Service

About Bill's Tree Service

Adams County is orchard country, apple rows running up the swells with South Mountain blue along the western edge and the ridges around Gettysburg still holding their old timber. Bill's Tree Service works among all of it — taking down a tree that has become a risk to a house or a barn, trimming to open a drive or a fence line, pruning so a shade tree keeps its shape for another generation. Marsh Creek runs low and clear in August; in July the thunderstorms come over the mountain and leave work behind them, and what's down gets sectioned and carried out before the grass beneath it yellows. There is a particular pleasure in keeping a big old tree standing that only needed weight taken off it. When the blossom comes back around, the place looks the way somebody once imagined it would.
