About Mike-O Lawn Service

By late August the corn along the roads out of Rehrersburg stands taller than a truck, and the storms build in the west most afternoons, so the work happens in the morning half of the day. Mike-O Lawn Service cuts grass on Tulpehocken's back lanes — the churchyard strips, the wide side yards, the long ribbon a farm lane needs in order to look kept. Trimming around a stone foundation, edging a walk, hauling the clippings away: small acts that add up to a place reading as looked-after. Autumn slows the growth down but sharpens the lines, and the last cuts of the year are the ones that carry all winter. Around here, that's the cut people remember.
