About Winterstone, LLC

Some nights in January the sleet starts around ten and simply does not quit, and the borough goes quiet underneath it. Winterstone, LLC works those hours — plowing driveways and lots, opening walkways, laying salt on the places where feet and tires will be at six in the morning. There is a particular pleasure in a driveway finished before anyone is awake to watch it happen: the banks pushed clean off the edges, the concrete showing dark and wet. Berks County storms often ride in on wind off the mountain and turn to ice before daybreak, so timing matters more than muscle. By first light the night's work is invisible, which is precisely how it should look.
