About Ameri-Care

Route 88 threads through Finleyville, a small Washington County borough whose houses climb the green slopes on either side of the road. Ameri-Care looks after the lawns on those hillsides, where mowing means working the grade and paying attention to how a yard sheds water when an August storm spills over the ridge. September is a fine time to see the result: the heat finally breaking, crickets singing in the hedges, front lawns cut level and finished at every walk. Leaves follow in October, and the yards are raked out so the grass goes into winter unburdened. A tidy lawn on a Finleyville slope is a small, steady pleasure — the kind you notice from the road and feel from the porch.
