About Penn West construction & design

October takes the ridge above Fallowfield Township first — the maples along the old brick streets toward Bentleyville go over in a few bright days, and then the wind gets to work. Penn West construction & design keeps lawns through it, mowing while the growth lasts, trimming and edging, pulling the leaf off the turf before it mats down and smothers what is underneath. Fall cutting is quieter work than summer, but a lawn put away clean in November is the one that comes back strong in April. There is a particular pleasure in the last mow of the year on a cold blue afternoon, with the yard bare, squared away, and the valley going grey below. That is a good place to leave things until spring.
