Farine Lawn Care

About Farine Lawn Care

Etna is stacked on a hillside above the Allegheny, with Pine Creek cutting through the middle of it and streets that climb faster than they run. The lawns here are small and steep and no two are shaped alike, which is exactly the sort of work Farine Lawn Care is built for — a mower turned by hand on a terrace, a ribbon of green between a wall and a walk. Grass gets cut on the level and on the pitch, edges are trimmed along the retaining walls, and the sidewalk is blown clean all the way down to the front steps. In July the valley traps the heat coming off the river, so the cut is left a touch taller and the roots keep their shade. When autumn comes the leaves collect against the walls and the fences, and they are cleared out before the rain glues them down. Small yards, done right, one street at a time.
