About Stubenhofer Landscaping

September on Erie's east side has a particular gold to it: the light comes in low over the vineyard country toward North East, and the lawns, rain-fed all summer, hold their color deep into fall. Stubenhofer Landscaping is out in it — mowing the long yards above Wintergreen Gorge, running the trimmer along the stone walls and the base of the maples, cutting back the grass that has crept over the drive. Four Mile Creek ground grows a thick, forgiving turf, and one clean pass across it shows every stripe. Then the trees let go and the work turns to hauling leaves off the grass before the first hard frost pins them there. A yard that goes into winter cleared comes out of it green.
