Petersons Property Maintenance

About Petersons Property Maintenance

Elk Creek carves its wooded ravine down toward the lake just east of town, and in deep winter the whole valley goes soundless under new snow. Petersons Property Maintenance is out in that hush at three in the morning, when Lake City is dark except for a plow lamp swinging across a driveway. The job is snow plowing, clearing drives and lots, shoveling walks down to the step, and spreading salt at the spots that ice first. Nobody sees the hours it takes; they see a black driveway at six-fifteen and a car that backs out without a shovel in the trunk. That is the whole point of it, and it is worth being proud of.
