About Reed's Services Inc

A snow route is a list written in October and run at three in the morning. Reed's Services Inc keeps one through Ellwood City each winter — plowing drives and lots, clearing walks and entrances, spreading salt where the shade holds ice past noon. Storms come down out of the northwest and stall against the hills above the Connoquenessing, so a two-inch forecast can turn into a whole night's work. The satisfaction is plain and physical: pavement where there was none, banks squared off, the way in and the way out both open. Then the sky lightens, and it looks like nothing happened at all.
