Snowscapes

About Snowscapes

When it snows hard, the Northampton Street Bridge goes to a white ribbon and the Delaware beneath it turns the color of slate. Snowscapes is already moving by then — plow down, salt loaded, working a list of driveways, lots and walkways that has to be finished before the first cars try them. Ice is the real adversary here; the river throws damp air up the hill and a cleared surface can glaze over by nine in the morning. So it is treated, checked, and treated again. Easton, Phillipsburg, Forks and Palmer are all covered.
