West of town the McMichael Creek valley opens toward Snydersville in long low fields, and by late October the whole run of it goes rust and gold. Weiss Landscapes spends that stretch of the calendar moving leaves — cleanups, hauling, final cuts, beds cut back and mulched ahead of the cold. Earlier in the year it is mowing, trimming, edging, planting and mulch, week over week while everything is racing to grow. A Monroe County property has to be handled all summer with the fall already in mind. Put away right, a landscape comes back in April without a fight.
