Bill Mansfield Pocono Snow

About Bill Mansfield Pocono Snow

Three in the morning on the Pocono plateau has its own sound: a scrape, a low diesel, then the hush that comes right after. Bill Mansfield Pocono Snow keeps those hours, working the long climb toward Tannersville where snow arrives earlier and lingers later than it does down in the valley. Plowing, salting, shoveling walks — a short list, done over and over until a storm has been fully answered. The reward comes at seven, when a driveway is a driveway again and headlights back out onto black pavement. Up here, that is the difference between a day happening and a day not.
