East Finley is ridge and hollow country, where a lawn can run downhill fast and a mower has to know the ground. The Backyard Barber gives it a proper cut — mowing on a schedule, trimming the corners a deck cannot reach, edging along walks and drives so the line comes out crisp. Out toward the Templeton Fork the farms are wide and the yards are wider, and the late-afternoon light crosses those hills long and gold. Autumn drops the leaves all at once and the cleanup follows close behind. A trimmed yard set against all that open Washington County green is a fine thing to look at.
