About Maloy's Paving

Snow finds Chestnut Ridge before it finds anywhere else in Fayette County, and by the time it reaches the houses along Dunbar Creek there is usually plenty of it. Maloy's Paving turns out in the dark for that — plowing driveways and lots, clearing walks, and spreading salt so the first steps of the morning are not a gamble. There is a particular satisfaction in a drive opened wide and squared at the apron before anyone has to leave for work, headlights swinging out onto clean blacktop. Storms here stack up one behind another off the ridge, so the work gets measured in return trips as much as in inches. Dunbar, Connellsville, Vanderbilt and Leisenring all sit inside the route.
