About Tree Wise Men LLC

December in DuBois gets dark not long after four, and the hemlocks along the creek bottoms go from green to black in about ten minutes. Tree Wise Men LLC works into that dark all winter, plowing drives, opening lots and clearing the walks people need before anyone else is awake. The plateau collects snow patiently — a few inches at a time, night after night — so the job is as much about returning as arriving. After a storm passes there is a stillness out here that is hard to describe, broken only by a blade scraping down to pavement. Then the drive is open, and the house is connected to the world again.
