About Castillo Earthworks LLC

Phoenixville was built on ground that never quite lies flat — streets that stair-step up from the old iron works, back yards that fall away toward the next block. Castillo Earthworks LLC works with that grain instead of against it, mowing slopes at the angle they'll take, trimming the awkward corners no mower can hold, and cutting bed edges that keep mulch where it was put when a summer storm comes down the hill. Spring here starts in the low ground and climbs, so the first cuts of the year run a week apart from the bottom of a street to the top. Fall reverses the order, and the cleanups chase leaves downhill until the beds are bare and ready again. It is ordinary lawn work made interesting by terrain, and the satisfaction is a hillside yard that looks as composed as any level one.
