On an early spring evening the Pigeon Hills hold the last light west of Dover, and lawns just coming out of dormancy look, briefly, as though they might need nothing at all. They do. Crone's Lawn & Landscape starts with the cleanup — raking out the winter's litter, cutting back the beds, laying fresh mulch — then settles into mowing, trimming and edging as the season builds toward its full green. By late fall the route runs in reverse: leaves off the grass, beds put down for the cold, everything tucked in before the ground hardens. It is a year with a real shape to it, and the shape is a yard that looks intentional from the curb.
