WE CUT GRASS

About WE CUT GRASS

Donora is built on a hillside above a bend in the Monongahela, and almost nothing here is flat — yards step down toward the river in short terraces, held up by walls and hedges. WE CUT GRASS does lawn care through the borough, mowing, trimming and edging on ground that fights the mower most of the way. Steep lots and tight lines mean the work happens as much by hand as by machine, corner by corner, wall by wall. When it is finished, a Donora yard looks squared off against the slope, edges tight along the sidewalk and the retaining wall. That crispness reads all the way down the block, and on these old streets it matters.
