Area Maintenance

About Area Maintenance

Dingman Township wakes up under the ridge, and in winter it wakes up buried. Area Maintenance is a snow removal business here, working the long driveways off Route 739 while the sky is still the color of slate. The Poconos do not hand you a tidy inch — they hand you wet snow that comes in off the Delaware valley and sets like mortar by morning. Plowing, walkway clearing and salting are the whole of the work, and the whole of the reward is a driveway opened down to the pavement before the first car needs it. There is real pride in a road-edge banked square and a turnaround wide enough to swing a truck. When the day finally lights up over the hemlocks, the way out is already waiting.
