Fox Hill Lawns

About Fox Hill Lawns

The sky over Coudersport still goes properly dark at night, which means Fox Hill Lawns often shuts a mower off with the first stars already out above the ridgeline. Days here are shaped by the hills — lawns that tilt, borders that curve to follow the road, grass that comes on hard and fast in a short green season. The work is mowing, trimming and edging on a steady rotation, then raking the year off a yard once the maples let go. By December that same ground is measured in inches rather than blades, and plowing and salting open the way out toward Route 6 before the town is awake. It is weather-run work, and the results sit right there in plain view.
