First light west of Corry, and the open fields have thrown their snow back across the road in long white ribs. Munsee Excavating meets that with equipment sized for the job, cutting through drifts, opening lanes and yards, and hauling the banks away once there is no room left to push. Out where the wind has a running start, a road cleared at midnight can be closed again by six. So you go back, and the going back is most of the work. There is a good moment at the end of a drift line, when the way through finally opens and the day is allowed to begin.
