About Dreamscapes

Conneaut Lake makes its own winter: the wind crosses all that open water, picks up whatever came off Erie, and lays it down on the shore roads in bands. Dreamscapes plows those bands, working cottage drives, year-round lanes, and the lots along the water that fill in twice in a night. At four in the morning the lake ice throws the plow lights back, and the shanties out on it sit like a small village waiting for daylight. Walkways and steps are shoveled and salted so a porch stays a porch instead of a slide. By breakfast the shoreline is a set of clean lines between the drifts.
